Myth and Myth-take
A very different take on what Ahmadinejad really meant to say and how the message was distorted by the Western media. I found the argument very convincing.

The article is interesting. But it portrays Amadinejad as a man who is dutifully trying to protect his people from the oppressive west. This is not the case.
I am not a proponent of the western feminist movement. I think that its attempt to force women to "embrace their sexuality" by becoming promiscuous, and to abandon their roles as wives and mothers, which most enjoy, has been very harmful to the west. Iran, however is guilty of flat out abuse against women. Also, many who support Iran's treatment of women say that they are actually in favor of the dress code. The dress code for women is another symptom of the opressive invasiveness of the Iranian government.
The Government controls what people wear, and even what music they are allowed to listen to. This is tyrannical. They disallow dissident speech. What have they to fear? If they were really working for the benefit of the people, surely they would have no need to prevent uprising with such heavy handed measures. It is only through argument that opinions improve. The constant repression on dissident views is the reason why most of the middle east is actually behind today.
Whenever someone speaks against Iran, some will claim that they are looking through a western lense, or some other such bullshit line. Without any bias, it is clear to me that Iran is wrong on some matters. If people must be kept weak to be kept under control, the control is not effectively working for the good of the people.
